The Institute of Sustainable Energy Foundation (Stichting)

Introduction

KIC InnoEnergy SE (hereinafter “EIT InnoEnergy”) is a European company focused on catalysing and accelerating the energy transition. EIT InnoEnergy brings people and resources together through the integration of education, technology, business and entrepreneurship and strengthening the culture of innovation.

Our vision is to become the leading engine of innovation in the field of sustainable energy. The challenge is big, but our goal is simple: to achieve a sustainable energy future for Europe. Innovation is the solution. New ideas, products and services that make a real difference; new businesses and new people to deliver them to market.

At EIT InnoEnergy we support and invest in innovation at every stage of the journey – from classroom to end-customer. With our network of partners we build connections across Europe, bringing together inventors and industry, graduates and employers, researchers and entrepreneurs, businesses and markets.
Our bespoke support to accelerate sustainable energy innovation, knows no borders or boundaries:

The Institute of Sustainable Energy Foundation (hereinafter “the Foundation”) was founded by EIT InnoEnergy in 2017. The mission of the Foundation is to stimulate talent development in the field of sustainable energy and to provide an education programme that is fit to create sustainable, innovative leaders and entrepreneurs.  Its main aim is to facilitate the organization/coordination of the EIT InnoEnergy Master School programs and the financial transactions between EIT InnoEnergy and the EIT on the one hand and participating universities and master students on the other hand in order to carry out the EIT InnoEnergy Master School programs.

EIT InnoEnergy Master´s School facilitates eight distinct European Master’s programmes. All address key areas of the sustainable energy mix, all develop highly valued, in-demand knowledge and skills, and all are directly relevant to the needs of a rapidly changing energy sector. Our programmes are taught by 14 universities and two business schools across Europe. All offer academic rigour as well as plenty of experience of supporting an international student body. All our programmes focus on the practical application of knowledge, gaining hands-on experience, and giving our graduates everything they need to kick-start a successful career in the energy industry.

To promote the educational objectives of EIT InnoEnergy, EIT InnoEnergy´s Master School is aiming to attract more self-paying students and wishes to connect all students, including scholarship students, more strongly to EIT InnoEnergy. Besides being the main contact point for the students, the Foundation will also fund the added-value activities that are part of the programmes and through which the students receive training in entrepreneurship, innovation and personal skills development (i.e. the non-academic part of the curriculum). The Master School Management and Marketing activities will also be hosted by the Foundation.
